Why I Write

Writing is an impulse, cathartic at times, while at other times simply a form of play that gives me joy as I sit on the couch with my beloved cat Bruce, cup of coffee, computer, and allow my mind to wander where it will. These days I try not to write for anyone in particular, keeping in mind the advice of Cyril Connolly who once said, "Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self." If you happen to find something in these meditations nourishing I am grateful.
